The Measurement Technology Unit (MITY) of the University of Oulu is part of Kajaani University Consortium. MITY conducts applied research in measurement technology, develops device solutions for measurement technology, and provides services for bioeconomy, mining industry, circular economy and health and well-being solutions.

Kajaani University of Applied Sciences (KAMK) serves the development needs of Kainuu in particular in the fields of technology, well-being, sports and tourism. KAMK develops customers’ products, services and processes and conducts needs-driven applied research based on well-researched data.

Part of the Faculty of Sport and Health Sciences at the University of Jyväskylä, the Vuokatti Sports Technology Unit (JYU-Vuokatti) specialises in multidisciplinary and applied research in the biology of physical activity as well as in master’s level and doctoral education in sports technology. The University of Jyväskylä is part of Kajaani University Consortium.

VTT MIKES maintains and develops national measurement standards for fluid flow, force, and torque in Kajaani. The most accurate and reliable measurements made with them enable the development of new measurement solutions together with customers, as well as the verification of the quality of customers’ measurements.

CSC – IT Center for Science is a Finnish centre of excellence in information technology owned by the state and higher education institutions. CSC offers technology and service development solutions in the areas of special competence in research, education, culture and public administration. The solutions are based on ICT platforms, the national research and education network Funet, and efficient data centre operations. The data management and computing environment operating in CSC’s Kajaani data centre offers state-of-the-art and environmentally friendly tools for solving research problems. With LUMI, Kajaani is home to one of the world’s most significant computing centres.
